Leadership

Leadership

What is a leader?

A leader is someone who demonstrates what’s possible

and then teaches and inspires followers to do the same.

Jesus Christ was a great leader.

He showed up, he taught, and he gave.

He showed up in the real and ugly world of peoples fears, hate and rejection.

He taught people how to be free from slavery, bondage and death, and how to think and live victoriously in health, sickness, riches, poverty, with family or alone.  He covered it all!

He gave completely of his time, energy and life.

He told his followers that in order to have life they to would have to give.

Okay,..but what are we to do with our focus, drive and quest to receive?

Answer:  Don’t.

It’s actually not that hard.  You see, we can focus on either giving or we can focus on receiving, but we cannot do both.   That works in our favor as human beings.

We can direct our minds to focus on  anything we like.

For instance, let’s talk business.

We get into business to receive profits.  Obviously, there is no denying.  We do not get into business to go broke.

So we decide what area of the market place to invest ourselves, then we come up with a smart business plan that will put us on the path to receive.

Suggestion:  After you’ve developed your business plan, go to work, BUT leave the receiving up to God.  Focus on the giving, and then allow the best part of yourself, the giving self, to get a stronger and stronger foothold in mind and in your daily method of operation.  Feed your giving, spirit filled self, with more opportunity to connect in order to give.  Let your intent, your focus, your drive be to give greatly and fully to one more person each day.  Don’t focus on people.  Focus on the person.  Give your best and everything you’ve got to give to that one customer.  Forget about “the market”,… go after the person in front of you.  Get to know them.  Care about them.  Love on them.  Give to her.  Give to him.

Leadership starts at the kitchen table, not the stage.

Luke 6:38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
